I used SmartDVR on a Windows XP machine which reached end-of-life. I purchased a new PC running Windows 8. Now the SmartDVR software says "Failed to initialize driver" and crashes. Is there any solution to this problem?

There is a new version of the software that can be obtained through the official website. The version 3.3 is not compatible with Windows 8, but the updated one should work correctly. You can download it from the Intotech website.
Download and save the package then right click it and select Run as Administrator. It should work this way.
